Description
As a Senior Associate with the Government Affairs and Partnerships team at IIX, you will be given opportunities to design and implement development programs, support business development, contribute to strategic research and knowledge outputs, and facilitate key government, multilateral, and other partnerships for IIX The work will also involve liaising with the various IIX departments, third party service providers, donor agencies, government agencies, and corporates, as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Scoping and Partnerships:
- Conduct research on emerging trends and gaps to assess business development opportunities in existing and new focus countries for IIX, including mapping the development sector funding landscape, focus areas, and key stakeholders
- Develop thought leadership pieces, such as case studies, program learning outcomes, and blogs, to deepend engagement with government, development, and multilateral partners.
- Support the development and implementation of IIX's overall research agenda by working with other business units and teams.
- Business Development Support:
- Help identify and source new business opportunities with potential clients, funders, and partners.
- Source, prepare and submit high-quality proposals and concept notes (including RFPs and EOIs) to support business development efforts .
- Communicate and maintain effective relationships with clients, partners, and external stakeholders
- Project Design and Policy Engagement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams within IIX on proposal and concept scoping, activities’ planning, and delivery plan to help with smooth project implementation by the respective teams within IIX .
- Support the project implementation teams on the research and policy engagement-related deliverables, as needed
- Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Public Policy, Development Studies, Economics, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum 4-6 years of relevant experience in government affairs, development partnerships, business development, or policy engagement, ideally within the development finance, impact investing, or multilateral/donor sector.
- Demonstrated experience drafting and submitting proposals, concept notes, RFPs, or EOIs for government, multilateral, or donor-funded programs.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights and thought leadership content.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing case studies, reports, or policy-facing materials.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with government agencies, multilateral institutions, donors, corporates, and other external stakeholders.
- Strong project coordination skills, with experience working across cross-functional teams to deliver on shared timelines and deliverables.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Willingness to travel as required for partner engagement and program delivery.
- Prior experience or familiarity with impact investing, sustainable finance, or the development sector is an advantage.
You also understand that your duties may include performing work for IIX’s affiliates, and IIX Foundations from time to time. You will also be involved in ad hoc projects as and when required.
You will report to Senior Director for Government Affairs and Partnerships.
