Description
Help with continued improvements, developing operational and safety guidelines, and assembling machine components as needed. Provide technical expertise for all machining operations, using drawings, machining instructions, and experience Set up, adjust, and operate lathe, mill centers and/or Bridgeport to perform precision machining operations Design fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs Coordinate with management and engineers to ensure projects are built on time and according to design specifications Ensure that all operations are compliant with appropriate quality assurance Support machine retrofits and tooling upgrades 5+ years' experience working as a machinist and programming NC lathes and mills Prefer 10 years' experience working as a machinist and programming High School Diploma or GED Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) Ability to work in both metric and standard notation Must have experience with performing quality checks with micrometers, calipers, inside mics, depth mics and gauge blocks/pins Good English written and oral communication skills Excellent organization skills; able to manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously Positive attitude with ability to work a fast paced, high-growth environment Computer skills using Microsoft office Lean Manufacturing experience a plus Demonstrated outstanding leadership ability Ability to identify operational issues and offer solutions Familiarity with Fusion 360 or Mastercam Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis Ability to frequently kneel, squat, bend and stoop Ability to twist, kneel and reach overhead Up to 5% travel required
