Risk Manager
Position Summary
The Risk Manager supports the development, administration, and execution of the Company’s risk-management program. Reporting to the Vice President of Risk Management, this role works collaboratively across Operations, Safety, Finance, Human Resources, Fleet, Equipment, and other departments to identify and address operational and organizational risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support risk-management and operational systems, including Samsara and EHS Insight, overseeing user access, reporting, dashboards, workflows, and data integrity.
- Analyze operational and system data to identify trends related to claims, driver behavior, equipment activity, safety, compliance, and other areas of risk.
- Partner with Operations and Safety to identify and address risks associated with crane operations, equipment rental, transportation, fleet activity, jobsites, and field operations.
- Support Field Safety Policies & Procedures, DOT compliance, and Driver Qualification (DQ) File administration.
- Participate in accident, incident, property damage, equipment loss, and near-miss reviews and assist with tracking corrective actions.
- Coordinate claims-related information and documentation for automobile liability, general liability, property, equipment, workers’ compensation, and other exposures.
- Maintain visibility of open claims, assist with operational follow-up, identify loss trends, and escalate significant exposures when appropriate.
- Support insurance renewals, audits, underwriting requests, certificates of insurance, loss-control reviews, and other insurance program requirements.
- Assist with reviewing contracts, service agreements, rental agreements, purchase orders, and other commercial documents for potential risk exposures.
- Collaborate across departments and with brokers, carriers, third-party administrators, auditors, and other business partners.
- Visit Company branches, operating locations, and jobsites as business needs require.
Qualifications
- 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in risk management, insurance, claims, safety, fleet management, equipment rental, transportation, or a related field.
- Experience with operational risk, safety, fleet, compliance, telematics, or risk-management systems strongly preferred.
- Strong systems aptitude and ability to analyze risk-management and operational data.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with both field and office personnel.
- Sound judgment with the ability to recognize and escalate significant risk matters appropriately.
Physical Requirements
This position will work full time in the office (not remote). Must be able to meet attendance requirements of small office. Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about office. Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs. and sit at computer for extended lengths of time.
