Overview
AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Landscape Engineer to support the design review, construction supervision, quality assurance, and delivery of landscape and public realm works for major high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, mixed-use, and large-scale urban developments in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will oversee landscape construction activities, ensure compliance with project specifications and sustainability objectives, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outdoor environments.
Your role
- Review and supervise landscape construction works for high-rise developments, mixed-use projects, hospitality facilities, and public realm areas.
- Ensure landscape works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements, and Saudi regulations.
- Review and approve landscape material submittals, plant schedules, shop drawings, samples, and mock-ups.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify construction quality and compliance with approved standards.
- Review contractor method statements, inspection requests, testing records, and quality documentation.
- Monitor plant procurement, delivery, storage, and installation activities.
- Ensure proper implementation of irrigation systems, drainage systems, and water conservation measures.
- Verify compliance with sustainability requirements and landscape design objectives.
- Coordinate landscape works with architectural, civil, structural, MEP, and infrastructure disciplines.
- Identify and resolve landscape construction issues and provide technical recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements during landscape construction activities.
- Witness testing and commissioning of irrigation systems, pumps, controls, and related infrastructure.
- Monitor contractor progress and support project schedule management.
- Participate in technical meetings, design coordination workshops, and progress review meetings.
- Review variations, technical queries, and landscape-related change requests.
- Support testing, snagging, de-snagging, and handover activities.
- Prepare landscape inspection reports, progress reports, and technical assessments.
- Assist in the implementation of sustainable landscape practices, native planting strategies, and water-efficient solutions.
- Coordinate with local authorities and stakeholders where required.
About you
- Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Design, or a related field is preferred.
- Professional registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is preferred.
- Professional certifications related to landscape design, irrigation systems, or sustainability are advantageous.
- Membership in a recognized professional institution is desirable.
- 10 to 15 years of professional experience in landscape engineering and construction supervision.
- Minimum 5 years of experience on major high-rise, mixed-use, or large-scale urban development projects.
- Previous experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC countries is highly preferred.
- Experience working with consultants, PMCs, developers, and contractors.
- Demonstrated experience from design review through construction and project handover.
- Experience reviewing landscape drawings, specifications, material submittals, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of arid climate landscaping and native plant species suitable for Saudi Arabia is highly desirable.
