Heatcraft Worldwide Refrigeration is a long-standing leader in the world of commercial refrigeration, providing climate-control solutions to customers in more than 70 countries. Their state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in the cities of Stone Mountain and Tifton, Georgia, produce evaporators, condensers, compressor racks, and other top-quality refrigeration products for their five market-leading brands: Bohn, Larkin, Climate Control, Chandler, and InterLink. Heatcraft products are primarily used to preserve food and other perishables in supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, warehouses and distribution centers, in addition to other applications such as data centers, pharmaceutical and industrial process cooling.

The Manager, Safety/Health/Environmental is responsible for leading the execution of safety, asset protection, and risk management programs at a single manufacturing or distribution site. This role ensures the protection of people, property, and product by driving compliance, reducing loss, and strengthening operational discipline within the facility.

 

This leader partners closely with site Operations, HR, and EHSS teams to implement company standards and drive consistent execution at the site level. The role blends hands-on leadership with data-driven decision making, ensuring safety performance, asset protection, and operational excellence are embedded into daily operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

Site Safety & Regulatory Compliance

• Lead execution of safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable regulatory requirements
• Conduct and oversee safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across the facility
• Ensure emergency preparedness programs, including evacuation planning and drills, are effective and maintained
• Maintain safety documentation, reporting, and audit readiness for regulatory inspections

Asset Protection & Security

• Lead site-level asset protection programs to reduce theft, shrink, and operational loss
• Oversee physical security measures including access control, surveillance, and perimeter security
• Monitor facility risks and implement controls to prevent unauthorized access and security breaches
• Maintain loss prevention reporting and analyze trends to improve site performance

Investigations & Incident Management

• Lead investigations into safety incidents, cargo theft, inventory loss, and other incidents impacting the business
• Apply root cause analysis to identify systemic issues and implement corrective actions
• Partner with HR and Legal on investigations and workplace incidents as needed
• Ensure proper documentation and follow-through on all incidents and claims

Operational Excellence & Process Improvement

• Identify process gaps and implement improvements to enhance safety, security, and operational performance
• Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and company policies
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving methodologies
• Support site leadership in achieving safety and operational performance targets

 Data Analytics & Performance Management

• Analyze safety and asset protection data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
• Develop and maintain site-level dashboards and reporting for leadership
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of safety, security, and loss data
• Use data to inform decisions and prioritize corrective actions

Training & Culture Development

• Lead safety and asset protection training programs for associates and site leadership
• Reinforce expectations for safe behaviors, compliance, and accountability
• Promote a culture of safety, belonging, and operational excellence across the site
• Ensure onboarding and ongoing training meet company standards

Partnership & Site Leadership Engagement

• Partner with Operations, HR, and EHSS to support site objectives and business needs
• Communicate risks, trends, and recommendations clearly to site leadership
• Influence and support leaders to drive accountability and improve performance
• Coordinate with external partners including regulatory agencies and law enforcement as needed

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, coach, and develop site-level safety and asset protection associates
• Provide direction, performance management, and development opportunities
• Build a high-performing team focused on safety, security, and operational excellence
• Promote accountability, continuous learning, and a strong culture of integrity

What We Are Looking For

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Business, or related field

Experience

• 7+ years of experience in safety, asset protection, security, or operations within manufacturing or distribution environments
• Experience leading site-level programs and managing teams
• Experience conducting investigations, audits, and regulatory compliance activities

Functional Skills

• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety programs, and compliance requirements
• Expertise in asset protection, loss prevention, and investigative practices
• Understanding of site operations and process improvement methodologies
• Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable improvements

Leadership / Influence

• Proven ability to lead teams and influence site leadership
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to drive accountability and performance at the site level
• Experience coaching and developing associates

Tools / Systems

• Experience with safety reporting systems, audit tools, and incident tracking platforms
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Experience with data reporting and visualization tools preferred

Travel

• Minimal travel required, primarily within region if needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or distribution center environments
• Certifications such as CSP, CPP, or OSHA credentials
• Experience with physical security systems (access control, CCTV)
• Lean or continuous improvement experience

What We Offer

Compensation: This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between $101,000- $132,000 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company’s applicable plan. Employees in this role are not eligible for overtime.
