About the opportunity
Mercy Place Boronia is a small traditional model nursing home located at the bottom of the Dandenong Ranges surrounded by gardens. Known for its family like atmosphere where team work is central to ensuring our residents are cared for we are an inclusive employer and keen to add the right candidate to our team.
As a Food Services Assistant you will be assisting the Chef/Cook to ensure our residents are provided with tasty, nutritious and well presented food. You will assist to maintain compliance with the food safety standards and prior experience in an aged care kitchen would be advantageous.
- Assistance with delivery of food services to residents including assist with preparation of meals as required.
- Ensure sufficient food & drink supplies are available in conjunction with the Chef/Cook.
- Ensure individual preferences of residents and / or their dietary requirements are adhered to.
- Work to local government food safety standards and follow the Food Safety Plan.

Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.
- A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective person centred care with a focus on customer service.
- The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
- Previous experience in an aged care kitchen or similar preferred.
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
- A National Disability Insurance Scheme Workers Check OR evidence of application.
- Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
