As a VP or Director within the Trade Sales CoE you will cover the sales process and be directly responsible for the implementation and delivery of the wider Trade products spectrum. You will be deal principal on the deals and will be held accountable on the correct implementation of the deals for the clients within your scope. The product scope entails the wider products offered like the traditional trade products (bank guarantees, (stand-by) letters of credit as well as different open account trade products; These products are focused on wholesale banking clients within the Transaction Services product offering. You will be end responsible for TFS implementation as well as working capital (receivables, supply chain as well as inventory products). 

We work through our dedicated Trade teams based in different EMEA countries as well as New York and across APAC. The scope of the activities will be closely aligned with the Trade Sales CoE in the Netherlands. 

The country scope of activities will be heavily focused on countries who will not have dedicated Trade Sales in country. Hence the country scope will exclude Switzerland, Germany and Spain for now. Switzerland, Germany and Spain will only be covered from the CoE for complex transactions which cannot be accomodated from the country itself. 

Your key responsibilities 

  • Be the Deal Principal in structuring and implementing Trade transactions. This goes from traditional trade products to open account working capital products (receivables, supply chain as well as inventory). As from the VP and Director level you will have sales targets with linked implementation responsibilities. After implementation, the deal will be transferred to an Account manager. 

  • Analyse client needs, identify opportunities and work out proposals. 

  • Organise client meetings and pitches and make sure your scope of clients is sufficiently covered across all trade products. 

  • Be in the lead of the client interface and be responsible with the internal and external parties involved in the transactions 

  • You are a technical expert in the matter, be the deal team leader and have experience in leading a transaction structuring process from the front row. As an VP / Director, you will be the Deal Principal. 

  • Legal documentation negotiation has no secrets for you 

  • Keep the business safe and compliant. Think along on how to improve our processes from a compliance perspective 

  • Make the difference to grow the Trade platform.

As a VP / Director you will also need:  

  • To be commercially driven 

  • a relevant experience of around 6-9 years within either securitisation, a structured finance equivalent role, a Wholesale Banking product role, a Wholesale Banking sales position or in Risk Management. 

  • a strong background in trade finance and open account trade 

  • a strong background in credit risk and deal structuring/-execution 

  • excellent oral and written skills in English 

  • an academic degree in economics, management, law, engineering or equivalent
