The role at a glance:
The Sr. Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing, monitoring, and improving the maintenance system and related performance. Retains proper documentation of all maintenance and calibration actions and ensures that preventive maintenance procedures and schedules are created and maintained. Uses root cause analysis to eliminate abnormal, repetitive failures.
How you’ll contribute:
Performs preventive maintenance on plant machinery and equipment to maximize useful life and minimize unplanned production downtime
Inspects, repairs, and performs calibration on all production equipment: surface mount machines, punch press, test equipment, power tools, etc.
Works with Production Supervisors to coordinate maintenance schedules. Tracks and reports on preventive maintenance and repairs
Organizes calibration schedules between equipment and tooling owners, and the external calibration provider
Implements corrective actions to eliminate abnormal, recurring maintenance
Maintains spare parts inventory and manufacturing maintenance tools
Schedules and/or performs training for Maintenance Technicians due to on-boarding, new equipment, or improved methodologies
Interfaces with various levels of management within the organization to understand priorities, report problems and status, and escalate issues as appropriate
Monitors maintenance expenses to budget. Works on reducing cost of OEM, or comparable, spare parts and escalating to management when exceeding budget
Monitors uptime and capacity of key facilities equipment, like compressors, Nitrogen generators, etc.
Operates various machine shop tools and machinery in support of maintenance activities and production improvements
Audits activities on other sites and provides guidance to mature their maintenance activities
Assists in new equipment installations
Performs general housekeeping duties to keep equipment and machinery in new condition
Produces effective written and oral information pass-downs between shifts
Travels for equipment training and assisting in set-up of new sites
Installing compressed air lines from primary supply to point of use within the production cell
Participates on and fulfills solutions for the safety committee
Other duties as assigned by your Supervisor
A successful candidate should have:
Associates degree or 2 years in a technical training program
Minimum 8 years’ work experience of maintaining production equipment
Experience with hands-on maintenance and repair of PCBA and sheet metal equipment
Demonstrated ability in technical problem solving, troubleshooting, and reading mechanical drawings, schematics, and circuit diagrams
Competent in Microsoft Office applications, and proficient in Excel
Possesses excellent verbal and written skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with various departments
Available to alternate schedules and work overtime as needed
Strong customer service skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Motivated with the ability to work with little daily supervision
Work Environment:
Warehouse environment
Minimal travel: ~10%
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance
Stand or sit for long periods
Perform tasks (that may be repetitive) that require reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, walking, stooping and/or bending
Work in an environment that generates OSHA permissible machine noise levels
Use tools that require fine hand skills
Visually, observe and differentiate small moving parts
Ability to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required in designated areas
