• Salary Package: Associate Professor - Level D ($186,433 - $205,067), or
Professor - Level E ($228,560 - $239,365) plus 17% employer’s superannuation and annual leave loading
• Appointment Type: Full-time, continuing position based at the Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde
The Role
We are seeking an outstanding academic with expertise in one or more of the following areas: marketing technologies, advertising and digital marketing, customer insights and analytics, business-to-business marketing, or marketing strategy and innovation.
In this role, you will contribute across the full spectrum of academic activity, providing leadership in research, education, engagement, and service. You will develop and deliver innovative undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, supervise higher degree research candidates, and contribute to curriculum development and academic leadership within the Department.
You will drive the Department's research excellence by leading high-impact research programs, strengthening interdisciplinary and industry collaborations, securing competitive research funding, and enhancing the Department's national and international reputation. The role also includes contributing to the strategic priorities of the Department, Macquarie Business School, and the University through leadership, collegiality, and professional service.

About You
You will hold a PhD in Marketing or a closely aligned discipline and have an internationally recognised research profile commensurate with appointment at Professorial level. You will demonstrate a sustained record of publication in FT50, ABDC A* and other high impact factor marketing-related journals, together with success in attracting competitive research funding and building impactful research collaborations.
You will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research supervision, with experience designing and delivering high-quality, student-centred learning experiences across undergraduate and postgraduate programs. You will bring the ability to mentor and develop colleagues, build productive partnerships with industry and government, and foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing academic culture.
Most importantly, you will be a strategic academic leader who is committed to advancing research excellence, supporting the success of colleagues and students, and contributing to the continued growth and international standing of the Department of Marketing and Macquarie Business School.

A PhD in Marketing or closely aligned field;
Outstanding contributions to scholarship and research in the discipline as evidenced by sustained publications in high quality (especially in the areas listed below) in high impact factor FT-50 and A* journals (listed in ABDC ranking as A*);
Demonstrable, high-quality research in marketing in areas such as marketing technologies, customer insights and analytics, business-to-business or marketing strategy and innovation;
Proven ability to attract industry funding and/or competitive government funding;
Demonstrated capability of successful HDR supervision and mentoring of research students and early career researchers;
Extensive experience in the development and ongoing management of partnerships with industry and professional bodies;
Demonstrated academic leadership in research;
Proven capacity to undertake service and leadership responsibility at a senior level in the Department, and to contribute at School and University levels;
Distinguished record of high-quality teaching, in areas such as digital and social media marketing, customer insights and analytics; marketing strategy and innovation;
Extensive involvement in program development and management at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and course and unit innovation;
High quality interpersonal and communication skills demonstrated commitment to teamwork in the discipline, and a strong sense of professionalism and integrity related to all academic activities.
