Overview of the Systems Division
The Systems Division supports MUFG Bank Europe’s information technology applications, infrastructure, and hardware. Information Technology Risk, Security, and Control is one of the units within the MUFG Bank Europe Systems Division, alongside Information Technology Planning, Information Technology Service Management, and Business Applications.
The team works closely with business departments, other information technology and security colleagues, the European regional head office in London, and the global head office in Tokyo.
Your impact at MUFG
The Senior Security Officer delivers project initiatives and business-as-usual operational activities across the information technology and cyber security domains. The role is responsible for vulnerability management, security system administration, incident response, and the implementation and operation of security technologies, including identity and access management, security information and event management, privileged access management, and data loss prevention.
The role includes the following:
- Vulnerability Reporting
- Prepare and maintain vulnerability reports that track identified vulnerabilities, remediation progress, and risk exposure
- Incident Response
- Investigate, analyze, and respond to security incidents in accordance with established procedures and security best practices
- Coordinate tabletop incident response exercises with global colleagues
- Act as a contact point for the Global Security Operations Centre and collaborate with security monitoring stakeholders
- Certificate Management
- Maintain the certificate inventory for MUFG Bank Europe
- Ensure certificates for MUFG Bank Europe are reviewed and renewed in a timely manner
- Privileged Access Management
- Manage and administer the privileged access management platform throughout the account lifecycle, from account creation to decommissioning
- Support disaster recovery testing and backup procedures for the privileged access management environment
- Phishing Campaigns
- Analyze phishing campaign results, identify trends, and prepare reports with metrics and recommendations
- Data Loss Prevention
- Review email and web data loss prevention alerts, escalating where necessary
- Monitor privileged account activity and investigate suspicious access
- Engage with relevant business departments to refine business-related data loss prevention rules, ensuring that critical business communication is not adversely affected by data loss prevention controls
- Security Advisory
- Provide technical advice and subject matter expertise on information security, including security hardening for servers, client devices, and applications
- Act as security architect for projects and initiatives by reviewing solution designs and recommending appropriate security controls and risk mitigation measures
- Information Technology Audit Support
- Support information technology audits through subject matter expertise, hands-on remediation work, and risk mitigation recommendations
- Create and maintain policies and procedures relating to the role’s responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as required in relation to information technology security activities
Consultation and others:
- Work closely with information technology, security and business colleagues, particularly during security incident investigations
- Participate in internal consultation forums related to information technology security
The execution of the function will be according to the policies of the MUFG group in collaboration with the European regional head office in London and global head office in Tokyo
In order to be successful in the role, you will need the following:
- At least 5 years of experience in information technology security, cyber security, information technology audit, or information technology risk management. Preferably in the financial services industry.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher professional education level qualification in computer science, information technology security, or a related discipline.
- Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English. Language skills in Dutch, German, Spanish, French, Italian, or Japanese are a plus.
- At least one recognized certification such as CISSP, CRISC, CISM, or CISA.
- Experience in vulnerability management, security incident response, certificate management, and privileged access management.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging threats, industry best practices, and available security technologies.
- Preferred knowledge of or experience performing security assessments, operating a security operations center, and reviewing or monitoring information technology controls.
- Preferred hands-on experience with industry-standard tools used for privileged access management, data loss prevention, and vulnerability management.
- Ability to provide security architecture advice, review solution designs and recommend appropriate controls and risk mitigation measures.
- Familiarity with industry-standard information technology governance, risk, and compliance frameworks, including COBIT, ITIL, FFIEC guidance, and the SOX Act.
