People Analyst Role Overview
The People Analyst supports data-informed workforce decisions by collecting, analyzing, and translating people data into clear insights, dashboards, and recommendations. This position partners with People & Culture (P&C) leaders to measure workforce trends, improve recruiting and retention outcomes, support workforce planning, and evaluate the effectiveness of P&C programs while maintaining data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Develop and maintain P&C dashboards, recurring reports, and workforce scorecards for recruiting, retention, engagement, headcount, turnover, and other key people metrics.
Collect, clean, validate, and reconcile people data from HRIS, ATS, payroll, engagement, performance, and other systems to ensure reliable reporting and decision support.
Analyze workforce trends, identify risks and opportunities, and translate findings into actionable recommendations for P&C and business leaders.
Support workforce planning, talent acquisition analytics, organizational effectiveness initiatives, and P&C program measurement through ad hoc analysis and project support.
Prepare presentations, data stories, and written summaries that explain trends, implications, and recommended actions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Maintain documentation for metric definitions, reporting processes, data governance standards, and recurring analytics deliverables.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Data Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in HR analytics, HRIS reporting, workforce analytics, talent acquisition analytics, business intelligence, or related analytical role.
Strong Excel skills required; experience with Power BI, HRIS, ATS, survey platforms, and data visualization tools preferred.
Knowledge of HR processes, metrics, data privacy, and confidential information handling required.
Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, business acumen, data storytelling, written and verbal communication, stakeholder partnership, discretion with confidential information, and ability to translate complex data into practical business recommendations.
