Senior Manager/Manager (Business Partnership)

[What the role is]

As a strategic finance business partner, you will work closely with business divisions and senior stakeholders to support organisational priorities through financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and resource planning. You will work closely with divisional leaders to ensure resources are allocated effectively, financial risks are managed proactively, and organisational objectives are achieved in a financially sustainable manner. You will provide insightful analysis and recommendations to shape business initiatives, investment decisions, and operational priorities.

[What you will be working on]

Strategic Finance Business Partnering

• Partner business divisions to provide financial advice and decision support.
• Evaluate proposals, projects, and initiatives for financial viability and value-for-money outcomes
• Translate financial data into actionable insights and recommendations to support management decisions.
• Advise stakeholders on balancing operational requirements with financial sustainability.

 

Budget Planning and Resource Management

• Lead budgeting and resource planning exercises for assigned divisions.
• Review funding requests to ensure prudent and effective use of resources.
• Recommend funding strategies aligned with organisational priorities.
• Monitor budget performance, explain variances and identify emerging financial risks.

 

Procurement Strategy and Governance

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve cost-effective outcomes.
• Drive improvements in spend analytics, procurement technology, policies, and processes.
• Provide procurement advisory support to business divisions.
• Strengthen procurement governance and build procurement competencies across the organisation.

[What we are looking for]

• Tertiary qualification in a related discipline.
• At least 5–7 years of relevant experience in finance business partnering and/or public sector procurement.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess business requirements, evaluate options, and provide sound recommendations.
• Experience partnering stakeholders and influencing decisions through data-driven insights and financial analysis
• Strong understanding of Government finance and procurement policies would be advantageous
• Experience in developing procurement strategies, reviewing procurement frameworks, and advising stakeholders on complex procurement matters.
• Strong communication, engagement, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across different levels of the organization.
• Ability to balance business needs with governance and value-for-money considerations.
• Independent, proactive, and resourceful team player with a results-oriented mindset.
• Good project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

 

Note: Your appointment designation will commensurate with your relevant work experience. Successful candidates will be offered a 3-year contract in the first instance, and may be considered for placement on a permanent tenure or subsequent contract renewal.
