Job Title:
Senior Project Planner
Job Purpose:
Our client is strengthening its internal project management capability and is seeking an experienced Senior Project Planner to establish and maintain robust planning standards across its capital project portfolio. This is a hands-on PMO role for a Senior Project Planner who can turn project scope into credible, integrated schedules and provide clear, practical schedule intelligence to Project Managers and Project Leads. The Senior Project Planner will own the quality, consistency and integration of project schedules within the PMO. The role supports Project Managers by maintaining reliable schedules, coordinating timely updates, analysing schedule health, forecasting impacts and identifying practical recovery options. The Senior Project Planner will also compile and maintain the portfolio master schedule and enable schedule data to support executive and project reporting through SharePoint, Project Server and Power BI.

Qualifications & experience:
- Grade 12 / Matric, plus a relevant bachelor’s degree in Cost and Management Accounting,
- A relevant degree, diploma or recognised technical qualification in engineering, project management, planning, construction management or a related field.
- Substantial hands-on experience developing, updating and analysing complex capital project schedules. Mining, mineral processing, heavy industrial or infrastructure project experience is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with contractor schedules, integrated master schedules, schedule quality reviews and critical-path analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project. Strong Excel capability is required. Practical understanding of work breakdown structures, baselines, progress measurement, forecasting, schedule risk, change control and schedule recovery planning.
- Ability to interpret technical scope, engineering deliverables, procurement activities, construction sequences and commissioning requirements.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project and operational sites when required.
