Nordson is seeking a Principal Business Analyst to serve as a senior individual contributor supporting JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and related business processes. This role partners with business and technology stakeholders to analyze complex needs, define scalable solutions, improve processes and controls, and guide initiatives from discovery through adoption and support. The Principal Business Analyst provides functional leadership across projects and operational improvements, mentors other analysts, and helps shape the JD Edwards product roadmap.
Business Analysis and Solution Leadership
- Lead discovery and analysis for complex JD Edwards EnterpriseOne initiatives, enhancements, integrations, and process improvements across finance, distribution, procurement, manufacturing, supply chain, and asset management.
- Partner with process owners, subject-matter experts, architects, developers, security teams, and vendors to translate business objectives into clear functional and nonfunctional requirements.
- Evaluate current-state processes, data, controls, pain points, and system capabilities; define practical future-state processes and scalable solution options.
- Develop business cases, process maps, requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, decision records, traceability, and other analysis deliverables appropriate to the initiative.
- Recommend configuration and delivered functionality before customization, balancing business value, user experience, security, compliance, supportability, and total cost of ownership.
- Provide senior functional guidance for JD Edwards applications, data, integrations, reporting, security roles, batch processing, and adjacent enterprise platforms.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of technical integrations and their configuration, including interfaces, data flows, endpoints, authentication, error handling, dependencies, and troubleshooting across JD Edwards and connected enterprise systems.
- Identify cross-functional dependencies, risks, assumptions, and impacts, and facilitate timely decisions with business and technology stakeholders.
Project and Product Delivery
- Lead the business-analysis workstream for implementations, upgrades, acquisitions, divestitures, integrations, global rollouts, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with product owners, project managers, and sponsors to define outcomes, scope, priorities, estimates, milestones, dependencies, and delivery approaches.
- Plan and coordinate functional design reviews, prototyping, testing, defect triage, data validation, cutover readiness, training, communications, and post-implementation support.
- Create and execute test strategies and scenarios that validate end-to-end business processes, integrations, reports, controls, and data quality.
- Maintain a well-defined backlog of enhancements and defects, clarify acceptance criteria, and support prioritization based on value, risk, effort, and strategic alignment.
- Monitor delivered outcomes and service trends, identify root causes and improvement opportunities, and recommend actions that reduce manual work and recurring issues.
- Ensure solutions and supporting documentation are complete, supportable, auditable, and transitioned effectively to operational teams.
Stakeholder Partnership and Facilitation
- Build trusted relationships with business process owners, site leaders, end users, and technology teams across a global organization.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, process reviews, design sessions, and decision forums that drive shared understanding and actionable outcomes.
- Communicate complex business and technical topics clearly to varied audiences through concise documentation, presentations, demonstrations, and status updates.
- Assess whether issues originate in process, data, configuration, security, integrations, infrastructure, or usability, and coordinate resolution with the appropriate teams.
- Support organizational change by assessing stakeholder impacts and contributing to communications, training, adoption, and readiness plans.
- Represent business needs while promoting standardized processes, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, internal controls, and sustainable platform practices.
Practice Leadership and Continuous Improvement
- Serve as a subject-matter expert and mentor to business analysts and project team members without direct people-management responsibility.
- Establish and improve reusable business-analysis methods, templates, quality standards, and knowledge assets.
- Contribute to product roadmaps and portfolio planning by identifying business capabilities, technology lifecycle needs, emerging requirements, and opportunities for simplification.
- Evaluate emerging JD Edwards capabilities, including EnterpriseOne Orchestrator, workflow, automation, personalization, analytics, reporting, and user-experience enhancements.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Typically requires 7 or more years of progressive business analysis, enterprise applications, or ERP experience, including substantial JD Edwards EnterpriseOne experience and demonstrated leadership of complex cross-functional initiatives. A successful candidate will have a record of analyzing complex business needs, influencing decisions without direct authority, and delivering secure, scalable, measurable process and technology improvements.
Preferred Skills and Abilities

- Expertise in business analysis techniques, including elicitation, process modeling, requirements management, data analysis, root-cause analysis, solution evaluation, and benefits measurement.
- Ability to translate business objectives into clear functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process designs, test scenarios, and implementation plans.
- Working knowledge of EnterpriseOne Orchestrator, AIS, REST services, business services, reporting, workflow, automation, integrations, and data-management practices.
- Experience with JD Edwards complementary solutions, including RF-SMART, IntelliChief, InfoShip, All-Out Security, and ReportsNow.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity, least-privilege access, segregation of duties, auditability, change control, privacy, and financial or regulatory controls applicable to ERP solutions.
- Experience supporting implementations, upgrades, global rollouts, acquisitions, integrations, data migrations, or major process-transformation programs.
- Strong facilitation, negotiation, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, documentation, and executive-presentation skills.
- Ability to lead through influence, mentor peers, make sound risk-based recommendations, and manage multiple priorities in a global environment.
- Relevant certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, JD Edwards or Oracle, ITIL, project management, or Agile are preferred.
