Our client, a luxury resort in the Maldives, is seeking an accomplished Assistant Director of Commercial to drive revenue performance, market positioning, and strategic commercial initiatives across one of the region’s most iconic island destinations. This role partners closely with senior leadership to shape sales, marketing, and distribution strategies that elevate brand visibility and maximize profitability.
You’ll lead key commercial functions, analyze market trends, optimize pricing and inventory, and ensure the resort remains competitive in global luxury markets. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support preparation of revenue management reports for room revenue.
- Attend departmental meetings and communications.
- Assist in implementing hotel sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Analyze Spa and F&B performance to improve revenue and profitability.
- Lead the hotel’s revenue management function.
- Ensure accurate reporting and analysis for decision-making.
- Implement competitive pricing based on demand forecasts.
- Manage room inventory and prevent overbooking.
- Maintain updated systems, rate codes, and inventory controls.
- Prepare and review occupancy and average rate forecasts regularly.
- Conduct and lead revenue meetings with departments.
- Recommend strategies during low demand or slow periods.
- Support the Commercial Director in maximizing revenue and yield.
- Use data analysis to drive pricing, distribution, and strategy decisions.
- Evaluate past strategies and contribute to future planning.
- Conduct displacement analysis to optimize market mix.
- Monitor use of revenue systems and tools for effectiveness.
- Ensure data accuracy, cleanliness, and integrity across systems.
- Train Front Office staff on correct procedures for data accuracy.
- Coordinate with RMCC on rate strategies, promotions, and reporting.
- Manage OTA performance, digital strategies, and online visibility.
- Support Spa and F&B with pricing strategies, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Assist in annual business planning and profitability improvement.
- Maintain knowledge of systems, tools, and technical processes.
- Train teams, ensure compliance, maintain relationships, and handle additional duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar position.
- Luxury Hotel / Resort experience.
- Proficient level of written and verbal English
- Sound computer knowledge including Microsoft Office, Opera and Fusion
- Positive attitude and good communications skills.
- Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service.
- Ability to demonstrate working and engaging teams from different cultures
- Excellent selling capabilities
- Ability to take initiative.
