Description
Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Dir of Operations and Logistics, the Supply Chain Operations Manager serves as an embedded analytical and process resource across Johnson Health Tech logistics, continuous improvement, and supply chain operations functions. This role owns a roughly equal mix of logistics execution, CI/process improvement, and data analytics work — providing operational depth while driving visibility and efficiency gains across the supply chain. The position is well-suited for a candidate who is equally comfortable pulling a freight exception report, mapping a process gap, and building a Power Automate workflow to close it.
Responsibilities:
Logistics Execution (35%)
- Monitor ocean shipment milestones, resolve exceptions, and escalate delays proactively to internal stakeholders
- Coordinate with customs brokers on entry documentation, HTS classification support, and duty/surcharge tracking
- Maintain accurate shipment records and status updates within the TMS and SAP; reconcile discrepancies between systems
- Support freight cost accrual and invoice validation processes in coordination with finance
Continuous Improvement & Process (35%)
- Identify and document process gaps across supply chain workflows; prioritize improvement opportunities by impact and feasibility
- Lead or support CI projects from scoping through implementation, applying structured problem-solving methodologies
- Build and maintain Power Automate flows to reduce manual work, improve data handoffs, and standardize recurring processes
- Partner with cross-functional teams (procurement, warehouse, customer service, finance) to implement process changes and ensure adoption
- Maintain process documentation, SOPs, and work instructions for key logistics and supply chain procedures
Analytics & Reporting (30%)
- Develop and maintain supply chain KPI dashboards tracking freight performance, cost, lead times, and inventory pipeline metrics
- Execute regular reporting cycles (weekly, monthly, quarterly) and deliver ad hoc analysis in support of operational and leadership decisions
- Aggregate and validate data from SAP, TMS, and carrier portals to produce clean, reliable reporting
- Support annual budget and surcharge planning processes with data modeling and scenario analysis
- Identify trends, anomalies, and root causes in supply chain data; communicate findings clearly to non-technical audiences
Marginal Job Functions:
- Other projects as needed.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, Analytics, or related field required.
- Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
- 5–8+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, logistics, transportation, operations, or business analytics.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with SAP in a supply chain or logistics context (transaction-level proficiency required)
- Experience with a Transportation Management System (TMS) for shipment tracking, booking coordination, or carrier management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis; comfort with large datasets, pivot tables, and formula-based reporting
- Experience with ocean import logistics, including transpacific lanes, freight surcharge structures, or customs compliance
- Familiarity with Power BI or other BI/visualization tools
- Exposure to structured CI methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent)
Other Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication, along with multi-tasking, prioritization, and organization skills
- Strong attention to details
- Working knowledge of Power Automate or equivalent workflow automation tools
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and manage competing priorities independently
