Team Lead Maintenance 2nd Shift

Overview

Our Pet Supplies Plus distribution center in Seymour, IN is seeking a Team Lead Maintenance to help maintenance team members with organization and day-to-day activities. This position will provide other basic team support which promotes communication, quality, safety and productivity including performing the hourly functional work in the area. 

Responsibilities/Qualifications

Team Lead Maintenance key responsibilities include:

• Working with the Director/Manager to coach and motivate a team on day-to-day activities within the distribution center.
• Working with the Director/Manager to ensure team members are fully trained to perform their assigned tasks.
• Assisting the Director/Manager in ensuring all daily requirements are being met and any projects/processes meet deadlines.
• Effectively communicating progress against daily goals, and assigning work and adjusting manpower throughout the shift to ensure highest priority jobs are optimized.
• Providing on the job training and procedural audits/behavioral observations for team members as needed.
• Performing duties of maintenance team member.
• Assisting with maintaining compliance with company policies, safety standards, good housekeeping practices, quality standards, OSHA and other government regulations.
• Assisting with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Team Leader Maintenance requirements include:

• A High School Diploma or GED required. Associates'/Bachelor’s Degree desired.
• Solid basic computer skills.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of maintenance processes.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to multi-task and work within deadlines.
• Solid interpersonal skills and ability to provide confident communications at all levels.
• Strong leadership skills including ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow team members.
• Ability to read and interpret a variety of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions with minimal instructions.

The position requires ability to transport or move up to 50 pounds variable distances; the mobility and flexibility to use ladders to access heights in excess of eight to nine feet; and the ability to personally perform general maintenance repair tasks without endangering themselves or fellow team members.  This position also requires frequent bending and/or stooping to access equipment and machinery necessary when assisting with or performing tasks.
