JOB MISSION:
The Enterprise Technical Operations team is seeking an experienced and dynamic engineering manager to lead our CI/CD Quality Engineering team. In this role, you will build, develop and lead a team of engineers responsible for maintaining our exceptional quality standards across our portfolio of software applications. You'll drive the delivery of CI/CD automation improvements across technical functions to enhance system stability, reporting capabilities and user experience. This position is a great opportunity to lead alongside some of the brightest engineers in the industry. We'll need you to have significant experience in people management, quality engineering, software development and DevOps, release engineering and systems administration, as well as a strong working knowledge of continuous integration and deployment techniques.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Recruit, hire, develop and retain a high-performing team of CI/CD and quality engineers; manage performance, career growth and day-to-day coaching.
- Implement the global strategy for QE, DevOps and Release, focusing on the automated continuous integration and deployment test strategies, methodologies, processes and procedures.
- Remove blockers and support the team in debugging and isolating product faults in highly complex integration environments.
- Collaborate with engineers to analyze product source code to recommend and guide appropriate test strategies for the products and applications.
- Ensure automation and continuous integration industry best practices are followed and implemented across the team; establish and enforce engineering standards.
- Schedule and lead technical quality reviews with senior management and internal stakeholders; advocate for resources and prioritization.
- Review quality audit results with leadership and drive corrective action plans for any items not meeting quality standards.
- Provide accurate and timely status of testing efforts and quality statistics to the engineering organization; own reporting and communication.
- Propose definition of and analyze metrics and data to refine and improve automation and continuous integration processes; manage technical debt reduction initiatives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing; ensure technical documentation, diagrams, workflows and processes are maintained.
- Manage team capacity planning, sprint commitments and delivery timelines; balance short-term execution with long-term strategic goals.
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS
- Master's or Bachelor's Degree in IT or Computer Science or equivalent work experience, with 12+ years of related experience including 3+ years in a people management role; equivalent combination of education and experience is also considered
- Demonstrated ability to build, lead and scale engineering teams in a CI/CD or DevOps environment
- Strong technical background in programming languages such as Python, Perl, Java, Typescript or C
- Experience with deployment and configuration management tools, e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef
- Domain expertise with hosted and on-premise web and standalone applications
- Expert knowledge of continuous integration and automation frameworks, such as Playwright or Selenium
- Experience with source code control tools, build tools and continuous integration systems
- Familiarity with virtualization, cloud and container technologies
- Expertise in defining and analyzing metrics, setting KPIs and managing technical debt
- Background in agile methodologies is highly desirable
- Proven track record of mentoring and developing engineering talent at multiple levels
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluent English language skills is a must
