Job Description Summary:
Responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring mechanization initiatives to improve operational productivity and efficiency by optimizing equipment utilization, while ensuring the effective implementation of mechanization programs.
Job Description:
Plan and implement mechanization programs to improve operator productivity and operational efficiency.
Monitor and optimize the utilization of mechanized equipment.
Analyze mechanization requirements and provide recommendations for equipment procurement and development.
Coordinate with the Operations, Engineering, and Central Workshop teams regarding equipment scheduling, maintenance, and repairs.
Monitor equipment performance using operational data, including productivity, downtime, fuel consumption, and operating costs (Running Account).
Support pilot projects, phased rollouts, and the monitoring of mechanization implementation within PSM.
Provide recommendations for local adaptations to ensure smooth and effective implementation.
Monitor the progress of mechanization implementation and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
Control the mechanization budget and ensure resources are utilized in accordance with the approved plan.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS/HSE) standards and operational procedures.
Prepare periodic reports and evaluations on the effectiveness of mechanization programs and recommend continuous improvements.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or another related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanization, engineering, workshop operations, plantation operations, or heavy equipment management, preferably within the palm oil industry.
Strong understanding of machinery and maintenance practices, with the ability to analyze equipment productivity, plan equipment requirements and budgets, interpret technical reports, and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and operational reporting systems.
Strong cross-functional coordination, team leadership, problem-solving, communication, cost and budget analysis, vendor management, and occupational health and safety (OHS) knowledge. Experience in implementing (rolling out) mechanization initiatives in palm oil plantations and willingness to travel for business are required.
Willing to be assigned to the company's operational sites as required.
