Job Description:
Essential Function:
Directs and coordinates the activities of all Final Inspection activities in support of the company production departments by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions to Quality Manager, Manufacturing Manager, EHS Manager, and/ or Director of Manufacturing
- Ensure compliance to EHS requirements (EHS training, Communication, etc.)
- Monitors building security ensuring safe operations
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Silfex’s Quality Management System and properly apply Quality Procedures and Operating Procedures as appropriate
- Reviews production orders/schedules/pull signals to obtain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan inspection requirements
- Executes operational schedules and coordinates inspection activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications
- Oversees Quality department systems ensuring that any issues that arise are resolved in a timely manner
- Interacts with Maintenance staff by issuing Leading2Lean dispatches as necessary for facility repairs/improvements
- Interacts with Metrology staff by issuing Leading2Lean dispatches as necessary for measuring equipment repairs/improvements
- Interacts with Programming staff as necessary for measuring equipment program repairs/improvements
- Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes and coaches workers to ensure compliance with standards
- Conduct root cause corrective action
- Compiles, stores, and retrieves inspection data
- Set performance goals such as throughput and error rates and balance work assignments to achieve optimal flow
- Collaboratively work with cell(s)/value stream(s) with technical lead persons on product quality issues, driving continuous quality improvements and improved performance based on established metrics
- Coach team members with their assignments and expectations on a daily basis
- Monitor and achieve established AOP metrics to acceptable standards (safety, budget variances, inventory levels, on time delivery, first pass yield, scrap, rework, schedule adherence, training goals, etc.)
- Foster and maintain a team environment
- Ensure that employees record transactions accurately, timely, and meet QMS standards
- Handle ADP activities including monitoring and approval of time-off requests
- Work with HR when disciplinary actions are required to be taken against an employee
- Establish training sessions for new employees and maximize production efficiency through training
- Conduct employee reviews for people in the department
- Implement and maintain a system of continuous improvement (goals cascading down, feedback cascading up)
- Champion a reward and recognition process within the department to foster participation, competitiveness, and a sense of ownership
- Drive standard work throughout plant operations
- Ensure audits are completed as required – RMBWA, 5S, Leader Standard Work, etc
- Maintain SQDC boards daily
- Represent Quality department in meetings as required for planning, corrective action development, daily stand-up, etc
- Ensure that OCAP are in place for critical production equipment
- Ensure that PM’s, 5S and cleaning tasks are completed timely and accurately
- Perform tasks as documented on Leader Standard Work
- Perform tasks/duties related to special projects or assignments
- Perform other duties as assigned by operations management

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Associates Degree or equivalent is required with 6+ years of related experience as an individual contributor; or equivalent work experience
- Preferred is knowledge and ability to apply Lean Thinking and Tools to continuous improvement of business processes
- Ability to coach, mentor, and influence others without direct authority
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret dimensional prints, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Eligible to receive deemed exports of EAR or ITAR controlled technology
- Lean and/or Six Sigma training, Green Belt certification is preferred
