What you'll be doing

Wealth Management Operations supports a broad range of investment products, advisory programs, client account services, and operational activities across Wealth Management. As the Senior Director, Special Products, you'll lead a complex portfolio of operations that supports fee-based, fiduciary, custodial, proprietary, and institutional product offerings, along with related client administration and reporting activities. You'll set the strategic direction for service delivery, governance, controls, cost management, and process transformation across multiple specialized functions. You'll partner closely with business leaders, product teams, technology, governance, and change partners to support business growth, regulatory change, and new product or platform initiatives. You'll also modernize the operating model through process optimization, digitization, and automation while building a high-performing leadership team positioned to meet current and future client and business needs.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.

How you'll succeed

  • Strategic leadership - Lead the strategic and tactical operating plan for the Special Products portfolio, setting priorities that align with Wealth Management Operations and enterprise objectives.

  • Operational excellence - Direct end-to-end operations across portfolio administration, fee-based product servicing, custodial and post-trade support, client file administration, billing and fee governance, reporting, and related control activities to deliver accurate, timely, and client-focused service.

  • Risk and governance - Establish and maintain a strong control environment by overseeing audit readiness, regulatory reviews, issue management, remediation activities, and governance practices across the portfolio.

  • Transformation - Drive process redesign, standardization, automation, and digitization initiatives that improve scalability, resilience, productivity, and the client experience.

  • Financial and resource management - Manage budgets, business cases, unit costing, workforce planning, and organizational design to ensure the operation has the capacity and capability to support business needs.

  • People leadership - Lead multiple Director-level teams, strengthen leadership capability through coaching and development, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Who you are

  • You are a caring and accountable leader. You have experience developing and implementing strategic team goals. You have experience coaching employees and inspiring successful team performance.

  • Your influence makes a difference. You know that relationships and networks are essential to success. You inspire outcomes by sharing your expertise.

  • You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information. You communicate detailed information in a meaningful way.

  • You look beyond the moment. You know what you do will make a difference today and tomorrow. You look for new opportunities to define what's possible.

  • You can demonstrate experience in wealth management operations. Including fee-based products, portfolio administration, custodial and post-trade servicing, client account administration, billing and fee governance, operational risk and control frameworks, and large-scale transformation. It’s an asset if you have experience leading digitization, automation, and business change initiatives in a regulated financial services environment.

  • Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work, and you live our values - trust, teamwork, and accountability.
