Job Description:
The Mechanical Engineer I is responsible for supporting the design, development, and improvement of HVAC systems and components to meet performance, quality, and cost objectives. This role contributes to organizational objectives by assisting with product development, engineering analysis, testing, and manufacturing support activities. The position works closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to develop reliable and innovative products that meet customer and regulatory requirements. This role serves as a foundational engineering position focused on technical development, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.Primary Duties:
- Assist in the design and development of HVAC components and systems to meet performance, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform engineering calculations and analyses to support product design, testing, and validation activities.
- Create and maintain technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Support prototype development, product testing, and validation activities.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to ensure design feasibility and product reliability.
- Assist with troubleshooting product and manufacturing issues through data collection and root cause analysis.
- Support implementation of product improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and design changes.
- Participate in engineering reviews and cross-functional project meetings.
- Maintain knowledge of industry standards, engineering principles, and emerging technologies.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with laboratory testing and evaluation of products and components.
- Support preparation of technical reports and engineering recommendations.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects related to product performance and manufacturing efficiency.
- Provide support for documentation updates and engineering change activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline;
- 0+ years of experience in engineering, product development, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical field,
- Or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred:
- Experience in HVAC, manufacturing, or industrial equipment environments.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
- Ability to perform engineering calculations and interpret technical data.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with product development and engineering design processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency with standard business and engineering software applications.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines.

Work Environment:
- Perform work primarily in office, laboratory, and manufacturing environments.
- Regular interaction with engineering, production, and quality teams.
- Occasional exposure to manufacturing areas with varying temperatures, noise levels, and industrial conditions.
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required when visiting manufacturing or testing areas.
