Summary of Job Duties:

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law seeks to hire an entry-level, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Law. The successful candidate will teach Torts and other courses as needed, likely including Remedies and Professional Responsibility. The position begins in August 2027.

Bowen’s mission is guided by three core values: access to justice, public service, and professionalism. The law school’s rigorous curriculum aims to balance theory, skill development, and experiential learning. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

• Candidates must hold a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school;
•  Strong writing and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

• Outstanding academic credentials;
• Law review or moot court service;
• Prior experience in law school teaching.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach classes as assigned and achieve teaching goals;
• Publish excellent and engaging scholarship;
• Support the law school and university through internal and external service.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Demonstrate ability to teach;
• Demonstrated ability to advise students;
• Demonstrated ability to communicate in person, in writing, and through electronic means;
