A Day in the Life
The Service & Repair Team is responsible for providing technical service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair support for Medtronic products across multiple operating units in South Korea. The team plays a critical role in ensuring product reliability and operational continuity by supporting healthcare customers through field service activities and repair centre operations. Team members work closely with healthcare professionals, customers, commercial partners, and regional technical experts to resolve technical issues and maintain high standards of service delivery.This position is based in Seoul, South Korea and follows an onsite work model. The role requires regular travel to customer sites throughout South Korea, including the Seoul metropolitan area, Busan, Daegu, and Gwangju to perform field service and repair activities. International travel for product and technical training may be required, primarily in Japan and Singapore.
As a Field Service Engineer, you will provide hands-on service and repair support for Medtronic products across multiple operating units. The role combines customer-facing field service responsibilities with repair centre operations, ensuring timely issue resolution, equipment reliability, and a high standard of technical support for healthcare customers. You will work closely with healthcare professionals, customers, sales partners, and regional technical teams to troubleshoot issues, perform repairs, and support product performance in the field.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, calibration, and repair activities on Medtronic products at customer sites and within the service and repair centre.
Diagnose and resolve product performance issues by applying technical expertise and following established quality and regulatory requirements.
Provide technical support and product-related guidance to healthcare professionals, customers, and commercial teams.
Serve as a technical liaison between customers and internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and resolution of service-related issues.
Support product installations, upgrades, demonstrations, and customer training activities by providing technical expertise.
Maintain accurate documentation of repair activities, inspection records, and service reports in accordance with company procedures.
Collaborate with regional technical teams and participate in international product training programmes to build technical expertise across multiple product portfolios.
Travel regularly to customer locations throughout South Korea to deliver field service and repair support.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma (or equivalent) AND 6+ years experience OR Associate’s Degree AND 4+ years experience OR Bachelor’s Degree AND 2+ years experience
Ability to communicate effectively in English, including technical discussions, training, and email communication with regional stakeholders.
Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout South Korea.
Hands-on aptitude for troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and technical problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
0 to 3 years of experience in the MedTech, medical device, healthcare technology, or related engineering industry.
Field service or service & repair experience supporting medical devices or healthcare equipment.
Experience working in hospital, clinical, or healthcare environments.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance, equipment calibration, and repair processes.
Experience supporting customer-facing technical issues and providing onsite service support.
Exposure to cross-functional collaboration with commercial, technical, and customer support teams.
