### Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Lead Engineer to join the Audio Software team in Bangalore. The candidate will play a key role in the development, integration, optimization, and support of next-generation audio solutions across Qualcomm platforms.

The role requires deep expertise in Audio Codecs, Audio Firmware, embedded DSP software development, and system-level debugging. The successful candidate will drive feature development, platform enablement, customer issue resolution, and performance optimization across voice and music use cases.

The position also requires collaboration across cross-functional teams including Platform, Audio Frameworks, Customer Engineering, System Testing, and Product teams. Experience in audio signal processing technologies such as ANC, voice enhancement, and emerging ML-based audio processing techniques will be a strong advantage.

### Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and optimize audio codec and firmware solutions for embedded DSP platforms.
• Own end-to-end development and support of audio features across multiple Qualcomm products and platforms.
• Debug and resolve complex system-level issues involving DSP firmware, audio frameworks, codecs, Bluetooth audio, and customer deployments.
• Drive performance optimization activities including MCPS, memory, latency, and power consumption improvements.
• Support customer engagements and provide technical leadership for issue investigation and resolution.
• Work closely with Platform, Architecture, and Framework teams to enable new audio capabilities.
• Contribute to audio subsystem design, architecture reviews, and technology roadmap discussions.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across projects.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and validation plans.
• Contribute to innovation activities including patent submissions and next-generation audio technology exploration.

### Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of industry experience in Embedded Software, DSP, or Audio System development.
• Expert-level C/C++ programming skills in embedded environments.
• Strong experience with Audio Codecs such as LC3, AAC, SBC, CVSD, aptX, MP3, FLAC, AMR, or similar.
• Extensive experience with Audio Firmware and DSP Framework development.
• Strong understanding of Bluetooth Audio technologies including Classic Audio and LE Audio.
• Hands-on experience with ARM Cortex-M, HiFi DSP, or equivalent DSP architectures.
• Strong knowledge of RTOS concepts, interrupts, synchronization, memory management, and multicore systems.
• Exceptional debugging and root-cause analysis skills for complex firmware and system issues.
• Experience profiling and optimizing embedded software for performance, memory, and power.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

### Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technologies and audio enhancement algorithms.
• Exposure to ML-based audio processing, speech enhancement, noise suppression, wake-word detection, or related frameworks.
• Experience with audio hardware interfaces such as I2S, PCM, PDM, and SPDIF.
• Familiarity with audio protocol stacks and wireless audio technologies.
• Experience supporting customer escalations and production deployments.
• Knowledge of MATLAB, Python, and audio analysis/debugging tools.
• Prior experience working on Qualcomm, CSR, or similar embedded DSP platforms.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.

• 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
