Key responsibilities
Chartering & Supplier Management
- Lead chartering and procurement activities for project logistics opportunities across Asia Pacific.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vessel owners, shipbrokers, carriers, and specialized logistics providers.
- Manage supplier selection, onboarding, performance, and compliance processes.
- Maintain a robust and qualified supplier network to support project logistics requirements across the region.
Commercial Support & Procurement
- Lead commercial negotiations on freight rates, charter agreements, service contracts, and commercial terms with suppliers and carriers.
- Partner with Business Development, Product, Solution Design, and Operations teams to develop competitive and commercially attractive logistics solutions.
- Support customer tenders and project opportunities through market intelligence, supplier engagement, and procurement expertise.
- Identify cost optimization and value-creation opportunities across suppliers, routes, and transport solutions.
Capacity & Performance Management
- Ensure adequate supplier and vessel capacity to support project execution and business growth.
- Monitor supplier performance against agreed KPIs and service expectations.
- Conduct regular supplier reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives with key partners.
- Support the implementation of global and regional procurement initiatives within the MPL organization.
HSSEQ & Compliance
- Ensure HSSEQ requirements are embedded in supplier qualification, selection, and performance management processes.
- Promote compliance with Maersk procurement policies, governance standards, and responsible sourcing practices.
- Identify and mitigate supplier, operational, and commercial risks associated with project logistics activities.
We’re looking for
- 8-10+ years of experience in project logistics, chartering, vessel procurement, breakbulk, heavy-lift, or related logistics sectors.
- Strong network with vessel owners, shipbrokers, carriers, and specialized logistics providers across Asia Pacific.
- Proven experience negotiating freight, chartering, transportation, or logistics-related contracts.
- Strong understanding of project cargo, heavy-lift, breakbulk, marine transportation, and complex logistics solutions.
- Experience supporting customer tenders, project pricing, and commercial solution development.
- Strong supplier management and stakeholder management capabilities in a regional environment.
- Ability to work effectively within a matrix organization and collaborate across multiple functions and geographies.
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills, and negotiation capabilities.
