Overview
The role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end operations for Unit Trust, Structured Products, Bonds, and DCI products. Beyond core operations, the incumbent will drive digital transformation by identifying automation opportunities and utilizing RPA, Macro, and AI skills to simplify processes. Serving as the primary Business Unit Compliance Representative (BUCR), this role ensures the department remains audit-compliant and operates efficiently with a high degree of independence.
The successful candidate will report to the Manager of Wealth Operations.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Functional (job responsibilities)
- Daily Operations: Ensure accuracy and efficiency in daily booking, payments (to/from Treasury Processing and customers), and daily confirmations.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor proper reconciliation of units, accounts, GL postings, and funds movement within HLB Nominee current accounts.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Provide operational support to Regional Wealth Management teams.
- Independently organize and lead meetings with branches, project teams, fund houses, Global Markets, Treasury Processing to resolve discrepancies or drive initiatives.
- Business Unit Compliance Representative: Act as the central point of contact for all departmental compliance matters. Ensure strict adherence to Compliance procedures, SOP, regulatory guidelines, and the timely submission of reports.
- Audit Readiness: Maintain high integrity in data management and ensure all processes are audit-compliant.
- Digital Leadership & Automation: Proactively identify manual bottlenecks and implement Macro/RPA/AI solutions to automate repetitive tasks.
- Process Optimization: Continuously review operational workflows to increase efficiency through simplification and digital integration.
- Coordinate with IT and vendors on system issues, vetting change requests, and guiding technical testing.
- Evaluate functional specifications and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new system enhancements.
Education/Qualification
- Degree from a recognized institution with strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Professional certification in Programming, Macro (VBA), RPA, or AI.
- Good command of both verbal and written English
Experience
- At least 7 years in Operations, with a deep understanding of Wealth products (Unit Trust, Bonds, Structured Products, etc.).
- With hands-on ability to build and maintain automation tools using VBA, RPA, or AI.
- Strong knowledge of investment compliance and regulatory requirement.
- Ability to think through complex processes to coordinate and execute automation projects.
