Job Description

Just imagine shaping the logistics technologies behind tomorrow’s LEGO® factories across Europe. This is an exceptional opportunity to make it real.

As Senior Technology Manager, you’ll connect factory colleagues, technology specialists and suppliers to turn operational needs into scalable solutions for the LEGO® Group, starting in Billund before bringing that network and knowledge to a future new LEGO factory in Europe.

Core Responsibilities

  • Own the development of integrated end-to-end logistics solutions for the new factory, covering inbound logistics, storage, internal material flow, production supply, packaging and outbound logistics.
  • Translate business, operational and capacity requirements into robust logistics concepts, functional requirements, solution architectures and measurable design criteria.
  • Lead the technical evaluation and selection of logistics technologies and system solutions, including automated storage, conveyors, AGV/AMR solutions, robotics and the associated WMS, WES and WCS landscape.
  • Set the technical direction and ensure alignment with LEGO standards, technology platforms and long-term roadmaps, while balancing performance, scalability, flexibility, safety, maintainability and lifecycle cost.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the complete project lifecycle, from early concept and supplier sourcing through design, implementation, FAT, SAT, commissioning, ramp-up, stabilization and handover to factory operations.
  • Challenge and govern suppliers and system integrators, ensuring that proposed solutions, interfaces and technical decisions meet current operational needs as well as future factory requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate technical, operational and integration risks, and provide clear recommendations to support supplier selection, investment decisions and project governance.
  • Build strong collaboration across factory operations, MD&I, Digital, Product Teams, Procurement and external partners, bringing the right ex
  • pertise together and ensuring clear ownership of cross-functional interfaces.
  • Capture learning and develop reusable standards and solution principles that can strengthen future Greenfield and Brownfield logistics projects across the LEGO Manufacturing network.

Play your part in our team succeeding

MD&I Material Logistics is a global engineering and project function supporting factory expansion, operational performance and increased automation across LEGO Manufacturing. Collaboration sits at the heart of the team, connecting colleagues across factories, Engineering, Digital, Procurement and project organisations with external suppliers and system integrators to build, rebuild and inspire solutions across our manufacturing network.

Reporting to the Director of MD&I Material Logistics, you’ll create connections across disciplines, countries and organisations, bringing the right people together to solve technical challenges and turn ideas into practical solutions. The relationships you build in Billund and across existing factories will become an important network as you move with the project into its next chapter.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Experience collaborating across factory operations, engineering, digital teams, suppliers and system integrators.
  • Comfortable building professional networks and creating alignment across different disciplines, organisations and locations.
  • Experience with warehouse automation, intralogistics, material-flow processes and supporting digital systems.
  • Curious and open-minded, with the ability to share knowledge, listen and influence without direct authority.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Greenfield factory development, Brownfield transformation or automated warehouse projects.
  • Familiarity with supplier qualification, procurement processes, and global manufacturing networks.

Relevant education in logistics, supply chain, industrial, mechanical, automation or production engineering is helpful, while equivalent professional experience is equally valued. English proficiency is required, alongside flexibility to travel internationally for collaboration with factory teams, suppliers, testing and site deployments.
