Location: 85 Morrow Road, Barrie, Ontario
Employment Type: Permanent | Full-Time | 100% On-site

Under the direction of the Project Manager, US & Facilities, the Projects Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing minor capital projects, facility improvements, equipment upgrades, process improvement initiatives, and operational support projects within the manufacturing facility.

The position acts as a liaison between operations, maintenance, engineering, production, procurement, contractors, and vendors to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within scope, and within budget. The role monitors project activities, maintains schedules and documentation, coordinates resources, and supports continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate and manage multiple minor projects simultaneously, including developing project schedules, timelines, milestones, and action plans.

  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and resource requirements in collaboration with Project Managers.

  • Track project progress, coordinate project meetings, maintain project documentation, and provide regular status updates to management.

  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project deliverables are completed according to established timelines.

  • Coordinate equipment installations, relocations, upgrades, and modifications supporting facility improvements across office, warehouse, and production areas.

  • Coordinate utility, infrastructure maintenance, and building improvement initiatives.

  • Obtain quotations and coordinate purchasing requirements for project materials, services, and related work.

  • Track purchase orders, project-related expenses, and delivery schedules.

  • Coordinate vendor and contractor activities on-site.

  • Collaborate with internal departments, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective project execution.

  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and facility operations in support of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Support equipment commissioning and operational startup activities.

  • Coordinate training requirements associated with project implementation.

  • Monitor project activities within the manufacturing environment and ensure work is conducted in accordance with applicable health and safety requirements.

  • Prepare project updates, documentation, and reports for management as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or a combination of relevant education and field experience.

  • Project Management certification is considered an asset.

  • 3+ years of project coordination experience in a manufacturing, industrial, construction, engineering, or operations environment.

  • Experience coordinating equipment installations, facility improvements, or operational projects.

  • Experience working with contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams.

  • Hands-on experience with drawing and drafting in AutoCAD.

  • Strong project planning and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments.

  • Knowledge of project scheduling tools and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with budget tracking and cost management.
