Description
The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring productivity, safety, quality, and employee performance within the assigned area. This role provides leadership to supervisors and employees, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures operational goals are achieved while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure production, safety, quality, and delivery objectives are met.
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and team members to achieve performance expectations.
- Monitor workforce productivity and staffing needs to ensure efficient operations.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies and addressing hazards promptly.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Analyze operational metrics and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, cost reduction, and employee engagement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments including Human Resources, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Logistics.
- Address employee relations issues in partnership with HR, including attendance, performance, and disciplinary matters.
- Conduct regular meetings to communicate company goals, operational updates, and performance expectations.
- Develop and execute action plans to achieve key business objectives and plant targets.
- Manage departmental budgets and expenses within established guidelines.
- Support customer satisfaction by ensuring products and services meet quality and delivery standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred or 15 years experience.
- Relevant leadership experience in manufacturing, production, operations, or a related industry.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement effective solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational management systems.
