Job Summary:
WRA Architects is seeking a Technical Proposal Writer to join our Business Development Team, responsible for leading our proposal (RFQ) process. In this role, you’ll manage the creation of RFQ proposals, mostly for public education clients, coordinating with cross-functional departments. This role involves strategic planning, project management, and collaboration with various teams to gather necessary information and craft thorough proposals.
The Technical Proposal Writer is responsible for leading the development and execution of proposal responses to the prospective client with accurate information, high quality branded design, and on time. The Technical Proposal Writer ensures that proposals are compliant with requirements, complete, and compelling. The ideal candidate would have experience with creation of content both written and graphic design, print coordination, deadline-driven delivery and shipping, data collection and documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strong written English language skills
- Ability to create new content from technical information supplied by the architects
- Ability to edit content in various ways to suit each RFQ's target audience
- Ability to write and edit content independently
- Skilled at capturing approved content, organizing it, and warehousing it for quick retrieval repetitively
Strong graphic design skills
- Ability to visualize imagery needed; ability to create it, and solicit graphic designers' assistance and feedback
- Ability to gather and organize a large quantity of graphic designed visual elements for quick retrieval repetitively
- Expert in Adobe InDesign, Acrobat, MS Excel, MS Word; able to learn and navigate other databases
Strong time management skills
- Ability to work effectively against inflexible deadlines with attention to detail
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and follow through to ensure completion of a submission document that is accurate, high quality, attractive, and on time
Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders in other departments
- Ability to gather input and content from a variety of stakeholders, prioritize, and craft a final output accordingly
Able to use templates, adapt them to diverse audiences, apply Company branding elements, and maintain consistent visual appearance in the documents
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or similar field required
- Minimum 2 years of experience producing proposals, company brochures, qualifications packages, presentations, or similar materials required
- Experience assembling RFQ materials required
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience planning, scheduling, and coordinating the production of graphic deliverables accurately and on time
- Experience writing, creating, and editing content for various audiences
- Experience and solid understanding in Adobe InDesign required - Acrobat, MS Excel, MS Word a plus and ability to pick up other databases quickly.
- Previous experience working in architecture environment strongly preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, open-concept team environment required
- Valid driver's license required
