New Hampshire | Regional / Local Travel | Home Daily
Sequence has been exclusively retained and is currently seeking an experienced Water Well Driller / Drill Rig Operator for a well-established, water services company serving communities throughout New Hampshire and the surrounding region.
Based out of their regional branch operations, this is a full-time, year-round position operating water well drilling rigs. Unlike many drilling positions that require extensive overnight or multi-state travel, this is a regional field role with employees returning home daily. Typical working hours are approximately 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with travel primarily to project sites throughout the local and regional service area.

The Opportunity
The Water Well Driller / Drill Rig Operator will be responsible for the safe and effective operation drilling rigs supporting residential, commercial, and community water well projects throughout the region.
This is very much a hands-on field position. The successful candidate will understand drilling equipment and field operations, be mechanically capable, and take pride in maintaining equipment and completing work safely, efficiently, and professionally.
Experience operating a water well drilling rig is strongly preferred, but the organization is open to drillers with other experience that can make the transition. Candidates should have a working mechanical understanding of hydraulic systems, air compressors, diesel engines, and related drilling equipment.
Scope of Responsibility
The Driller / Rig Operator will be responsible for activities including:
- Operation of a water well drilling rigs
- Mobilization, setup, drilling, and completion of water well projects
- Daily inspection and operational readiness of drilling equipment
- Safe operation and basic troubleshooting of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
- Routine equipment care and preventative maintenance
- Coordination with drilling crew members and field personnel
- Safe operation of commercial vehicles and equipment
- Maintaining an organized, professional, and safe jobsite
- Interaction with customers, property owners, and other project stakeholders
- Working outdoors throughout all seasons and weather conditions
- Supporting other field and equipment activities as needed

The ideal candidate will be a water well driller or drilling professional who enjoys working outdoors, understands heavy equipment, takes pride in the trade, and is looking to build a long-term career with an established organization. Qualifications and characteristics include:
- Previous water well drilling experience strongly preferred
- Experience operating water well drilling rigs or comparable heavy drilling equipment
- Commercial Driver’s License – Class B required (or ability to obtain)
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Understanding of hydraulic systems, air compressors, and diesel engines
- Ability to perform basic equipment troubleshooting and maintenance
- Ability to routinely lift 50+ pounds
- Stick welding experience preferred
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Professional appearance and customer-facing demeanor
- Commitment to safe equipment operation and field practices
- Ability and willingness to work outdoors throughout the year
Regional Work – Home Daily
One of the significant advantages of this opportunity is the nature of the company's project footprint.
While the position involves regular travel to drilling sites throughout the region, this is not a long-haul or extended overnight travel position. Crews return home daily.
