Quality Assurance Co-op

Job Summary

As a Quality Assurance Co-op, you will perform day-to-day quality assurance activities, including inspections, product shelf-life reviews and glass and hard plastic audits, recommending corrective actions, conducting research, and preparing reports within a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform process checks across production, packaging, sanitation, and warehouse operations, including GMP compliance, metal detection, label and coding verification, general hygiene and safety, and in‑process and finished product weight checks
  • Accurately and timely document all QA activities and promptly communicate potential issues
  • Verify the proper functioning of testing equipment, such as thermometers and scales
  • Prepare reports and summaries and communicate results to the QA Technician, QA Team Leader, and other stakeholders as required
  • Implement hold procedures for suspect products and support product evaluations and testing
  • Collect and submit samples for laboratory analysis
  • Assist with the development and delivery of Quality and Food Safety training for manufacturing and support teams
  • Support investigations related to consumer and customer complaints
  • Assist and provide support during third‑party audits
  • Support SOP development and ensure facility SOPs and related documents are properly formatted and maintained

 

Key Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Quality Assurance, Biotechnology or related field
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of food safety (HACCP), GMP programs, and Quality Systems
