The HKUST Business School is seeking an Assistant Manager to provide administrative support to a new research center. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the directors in managing the center’s activities, developing communication content, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
Major duties include the followings:
- Managing research projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams to achieve set goals within deadlines and to a high-quality standard;
- Managing project resources with fiscal efficiency, reporting progress transparently to the funding agency/clients, and adjusting strategies based on data-driven monitoring outcomes;
- Acting as the primary interface with the funding agencies and industry partners to report project progress and outcomes, and liaising with the project leaders and funding agencies;
- Developing communication content and publication materials that meet the needs of the Center’s corporate members;
- Organizing and evaluating seminars, workshops, and activities to ensure that they are impactful and accessible;
- Engaging stakeholders and integrating their feedback into center operations, including both project management and communications;
- Event planning and execution, such as workshops and conferences for participants from academia and industry.
Applicants should have a recognized bachelor’s degree, with at least 2 years of post-qualification work experience. Master’s degree holders with less work experience will also be considered. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, with proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
Previous work experience in relation to external communications and corporate relations, event planning and execution, and technology management would be an advantage.
The appointee should be self-motivated, and proactive, and well organized, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with internal and external parties. (Duration: 1 year, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.
