DESCRIPTION:
As a Electrical Technician at Frontier-Kemper, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and testing electrical systems and equipment used in construction, industrial, and heavy civil operations. This role supports project teams by ensuring electrical components, systems, and controls operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and applicable electrical codes.
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and control panels.
Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and diagnose issues using testing and diagnostic equipment.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and systems.
Install conduit, wiring, cable trays, motors, transformers, lighting systems, and related electrical components.
Test electrical systems and components to verify proper operation and code compliance.
Assist with startup, commissioning, and functional testing of electrical installations.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and work orders.
Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and company safety policies.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to complete assigned work.
Identify potential electrical hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED required; technical school or electrical training program preferred.
3+ years of experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems.
Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable safety regulations.
Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Proficiency using electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, meggers, and circuit analyzers.
Experience with motors, motor controls, switchgear, transformers, and electrical distribution systems.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures and electrical safety practices.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic maintenance systems is a plus.
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and travel to project sites as required.
