A leading California life sciences organization is seeking a driven, hunter-focused Director of Sales to lead new membership growth throughout the Bay Area.
This is a field-focused business development role for a sales professional who thrives on prospecting, opening doors, building relationships, and closing new business. You will be responsible for identifying and acquiring new members, developing relationships with company founders and senior executives, and driving membership revenue across the life sciences community.
You will own the full sales cycle—from identifying prospects and initiating contact to presenting membership opportunities, negotiating, and closing new business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive new membership sales and revenue through cold calling, email outreach, networking, referrals, and direct prospecting.
- Identify and develop relationships with prospective member companies throughout the Bay Area.
- Own the full sales cycle, from initial outreach and discovery through presentations, negotiations, and closing.
- Engage founders, executives, and C-suite decision-makers to communicate the value of membership.
- Develop and execute territory strategies to consistently generate new membership opportunities.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline and accurate forecasts using Salesforce.
- Consistently achieve or exceed new membership and revenue targets.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of successful sales or business development experience.
- Proven track record of prospecting, developing new business, and closing sales.
- Strong hunter mentality with the initiative and persistence to create opportunities from the ground up.
- Experience selling memberships, subscriptions, professional services, or other value-driven B2B solutions is a plus.
- Ability to engage, influence, and build relationships with senior-level decision-makers.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
- CRM experience; Salesforce preferred.
- Self-motivated and comfortable independently managing a geographic territory.
- Life sciences industry experience preferred.
