Role Summary
The Marketing Manager will contribute towards Pfizer’s purpose of delivering breakthroughs that change patients’ lives, by supporting brands and providing an opportunity to work on assets that are at different stages of the lifecycle dependent on business need.
Marketing Managers will report into a Brand Director, working with a cross-functional team (XFT) to support the development of brand strategy & delivery of brand campaigns, working to maximise the impact of marketing activities through optimal channel mix, including newer and digital channels, leveraging AI-enabled tools to enhance productivity and effectiveness
The Marketing Manager will display operational excellence at a country level and bring customer & marketplace insights into the team, to influence and shape strategy and tactics. With experience of flawless execution of marketing plans, adapted to local needs, this individual ideally will also have experience of managing budgets and agency partners.
Experience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and enhance productivity. Demonstrated curiosity for exploring how these tools can improve outcomes and understanding of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
As an active member of the brand cross-functional team, the Marketing Manager will have a strong relationship with all relevant internal stakeholders in country (e.g. Marketing, , MDMs, Field, Medical, A&V, Policy & Public Affairs, Legal, Compliance, Quality, People Experience and Regulatory) and above country (e.g. International Commercial Office (ICO), Chief Marketing Office (CMO) and Global Stakeholders).
Execution of the marketing plan will focus on providing a strong customer experience, building Pfizer’s reputation in the business unit whilst incorporating strong financial budget management skills with thoughtful and considered use of resources.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing and Strategy Execution
- Support the development of the Brand Plan, leading on specific agreed initiatives.
- Maximise impact of marketing activities through optimal channel mix, including newer channels, working in partnership with the CE&O Channel & Content Excellence, Lead ICO, CMO, Colab and Global Marketing.
- Develop & drive end to end customer centric campaigns across appropriate channels following best practice for tracking and reporting of campaigns to generate insights through data interpretation and influence the trajectory of future campaigns.
- Implement key national market development projects designed to address commercial objectives and work with local teams to drive customer engagement.
- Drive localisation of Global Brand strategy and execution of the strategic and tactical country brand plan in partnership with ICO.
- Management/partnership with Colab and other third-party suppliers.
- Develop & maintain a thorough understanding of the marketplace for the assigned brand(s) to inform planning and revenue forecasting.
- Support problem solving and enhance productivity through compliant use of AI tools & demonstration of AI fluency including curiosity to explore how such tools can be better employed
Leadership
- Co creation of market development programs with clinical and non-clinical KOLs
- Liaise with Global teams to ensure full awareness of interactions with UK KOL’s and maximize synergistic opportunities.
- Ensure timely input from relevant internal stakeholders (e.g. legal, medical, regulatory) to ensure efficient & compliant delivery on project plans.
- Project management of key tactical activities and ensuring delivery within committed timelines.
- Performance reporting
External & Internal Ambassador
- Work with the Code team and agencies to ensure timely and compliant materials approvals for meetings and contracts.
- Horizon scanning of key NHS policy & structural change to determine impact on brand in conjunction with Cross Functional Team.
- Conduct all activities and make all decisions in accordance with Company policies & SOPs, Pfizer Values, & the requirements of the ABPI Code of Practice
Customer Engagement & Insight
- Ensure that customer and patient Insights as well as market issues are well understood and processed into the local business plans.
- Demonstrate and implement a clear understanding of what value can mean to the system, customers and patients given current national policy, guidance, and the healthcare environment to inform brand plans.
- Develop deep understanding of all potential customers and support the development and delivery of customer engagement strategy for all customer groups.
Financial Planning
- Ability to manage & prioritise resources across customers in line with global strategy & IDM commercial office and in dialogue with customer facing functions.
- Ability to analyse data, interpret, track vs KPIs (key performance indicators), build business cases and communicate clear, actionable recommendations.
- Support brand OPEX management and help ensure appropriate phasing of full year expenditure in line with the operating plan (DME).
Qualifications
- Graduate or graduate level equivalent
- Fully conversant with requirements of ABPI Code of Practice
- Knowledge of NHS - Structures/ Functionality/ Processes/ Partnerships
- Numerate and articulate, being able to communicate at all levels.
- Strategic thinking capability
- Track record of working collaboratively with others across functions.
- Experience of marketing across channels in pharmaceutical industry
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with a track record of building strong lasting professional relationships.
- Experience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and enhance productivity.

Closing statement
This role is based at our Walton Oaks office in Tadworth, with flexible working possible, and the occasional requirement for travel.
This position holds a UK Grade 12, GJL90.
