Data Specialist - Field Operations
Position Location: Florida
Position Summary
The Data Analyst – Field Operations supports field-based operations through the collection, validation, analysis, and reporting of operational and program data. This position works closely with field teams, project leadership, and client stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely information is available to support decision-making, resource allocation, performance monitoring, and reporting requirements. The position may work onsite in a field office, Emergency Operations Center (EOC), or other client-designated location.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Collect, organize, validate, and maintain data received from field teams and operational systems.
Develop and maintain trackers, dashboards, reports, and other tools to monitor field activities and key performance indicators.
Analyze operational data to identify trends, gaps, discrepancies, and emerging issues.
Support daily situation reports, operational briefings, client reporting, and leadership updates.
Monitor data quality and work with field personnel to resolve missing, incomplete, or inconsistent information.
Track operational metrics such as staffing, assignments, service delivery, inspections, cases, field activities, or other project-specific measures.
Translate field data into clear summaries, visualizations, and actionable information for project leadership and clients.
Support data requests from project leadership, clients, and other stakeholders.
Maintain appropriate data security, confidentiality, and document-control practices.
Assist with process improvements to strengthen data collection, reporting, and field information management.
Required Skills and Competencies
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience developing reports, trackers, and data summaries.
Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI preferred.
Ability to work with large datasets and identify trends, discrepancies, and data-quality issues.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Ability to translate data into clear and concise information for operational and executive audiences.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, field-based environment with changing
priorities.
Experience with GIS, database systems, or emergency management information systems is a plus.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business Administration, Emergency Management, Public Administration, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
3–5 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, operations support, program management, or a related role preferred.
Experience supporting field operations, emergency management, disaster response/recovery, government programs, or other large-scale operational environments preferred.
Experience developing operational reports, dashboards, performance metrics, and data-tracking tools preferred.
Must be willing and able to work onsite at the client-designated location and adjust work schedules based on operational requirements.
