Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to join its industry leading sales team. You’ll be responsible for revenue and profit growth of programs and services in targeted accounts. With a consultative sales approach, you’ll build relationships with existing customers by understanding their key business drivers and executing system assurance programs. With strong account leadership, you’ll also convert strategic competitive accounts and sell new technologies to current customers.

What You Will Do:
- Supporting industrial water treatment programs that are critical to safe, reliable, and efficient power generation.
- Monitoring and optimizing cooling-water and related treatment programs, chemical feed systems, water chemistry, and digital monitoring/control technologies.
- Performing routine field testing, equipment inspection, calibration, troubleshooting, chemical inventory management, and program-performance reporting.
- Working closely with station chemistry, operations, maintenance, and other customer stakeholders to identify risks, resolve treatment challenges, and improve plant reliability and thermal performance.
- Supporting condenser and heat-exchanger performance, biological and scale control, corrosion management, lake/raw-water management, and other site-specific water applications.
- Participating in periodic plant outages, inspections, technical reviews, KPI meetings, and business reviews.
- Maintaining strong procedural adherence, human-performance practices, and a safety-first mindset appropriate for highly regulated nuclear generating facilities.
- Developing strong customer relationships while identifying opportunities to deliver measurable operational, reliability, sustainability, and economic value.
Territory/Location Information:
- This position is based in the Chicago suburbs
- Territory covers Dresden, LaSalle, Clinton IL.
- Targeted accounts are within the nuclear power industries
- <25% overnight travel required
Position Details:
This territory covers a regional portfolio of power generation facilities across northern and central Illinois, primarily supporting the nuclear power industry, within approximately a 100-mile radius of Joliet, IL. This is a remote, field-based position. While the ideal candidate would be located in the western or southern suburbs of Chicago to provide convenient access to the territory, location flexibility may be considered, the greater distance from the territory may affect required travel and work life balance.
Because the assigned facilities are located within a defined regional footprint, the position will require regular travel between customer sites and a strong field presence. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently across multiple locations while collaborating closely with the broader Power team and technical resources.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Three years of technical sales or field sales support experience
- Possess a valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial) or life sciences (biology, chemistry, etc.)
- Experience in power generation, nuclear operations, industrial water treatment, chemistry, engineering, or other highly regulated industrial environments.
- Water treatment or specialty chemical industry experience
- Working knowledge of
OR operations, wet end chemistry, pulp mill operations>

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range
The total Compensation range for this position is $93,800-$140,600 which includes base pay and target incentive based on performance, per plan terms. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.Benefits
