Description
The Springfield Housing Authority, consistent with its equal opportunity and affirmative action policies, invites applicants for the IT Assistant position. This is a regular full-time non-exempt position with benefits. 40 hours/ week, M-F 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. $27.45 per hour. Position will remain open through August 11th or until filled. Job Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality written technical content that successfully incorporates provided steps or tasks including but not limited to: manuals, documentation, etc.
- Work with technical subject matter experts to translate process into written content.
- Organize, edit and maintain technical documentation.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for the IT Department.
- Monitor, provide common solutions and escalate user and or vendor tickets.
- Track status of: orders, software subscriptions, licensing, billing & payments.
- Create IT Department requisitions.
- Coordinate tasks associated with outside vendors in respect to repairs, projects and training.
- Maintain secure copy of IT account access for all systems, services and websites.
- Maintain IT vendor and escalation list.
- Organize and maintain IT related Inventory.
- Create or update existing IT department documentation
The position is responsible for producing high-quality technical guides and manuals for use by the varied SHA workforce. As the first point of contact between SHA staff and the Department, the position engages in a variety of customer service, problem solving, coordination, and information technology educational activities.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Requires skills and knowledge typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree. Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation. Any equivalent combination of education, experience, training and experience which, in the sole determination of the SHA, provides the required knowledge and abilities may be considered sufficient. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong writing skills and the ability to think and write sequentially. Technical Writing Skills. Time management and problem solving skills. Ability to grasp technical concepts. Customer Service, time management and organizational skills. Detail oriented. Ability to work with integrity and ethically; uphold organizational values and goals, follow policies and procedures. Ability to manage competing demands, deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events, while maintaining attention to detail.
