About the Role
The purpose of this role is on partnering with operational managers to ensure sound financial management, accurate budgeting and forecasting, and to support strategic decision making through rigorous financial analysis. This role works in close partnership with, and provides support to, the senior finance business partner for the relevant program providing proactive insight and accurate financial reporting and analysis in a timely manner.
Undertake financial analysis of operational strategies to ensure efficient utilisation of resources, identifying opportunities to improve financial results.
Provide a link between finance and operational functions, and provide support to the senior finance business partner
Support financial decision-making through the provision of timely, accurate and useful information to management.
Ensure financial plans are accurately reflected in budgets and adhere to agreed assumptions. Take responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of month end financial reporting for relevant departments, working closely with the financial accounting team to ensure all transaction processing is complete in line with communicated deadlines.
Your Contribution
High quality analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to develop complex costing analyses and financial models.
Ability to produce high quality work under pressure, with particular reference to month end reporting and budget preparation.
Financial planning and budgeting experience, preferably in a large, complex organisation.
Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills, particularly around the communication of financial data and concepts to non-finance staff at all levels within the organisations
Demonstrated initiative and the ability to recognise problems and develop solutions whilst working collaboratively with others.
Member of (or working towards) CAANZ or CPA Australia
Relevant tertiary qualifications (in commerce, business, accounting, law or finance)
Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain
