Director of Plant Operations

At Inspired Living, our Director of Plant Operations makes sure our community is safe, comfortable, well-maintained, and ready for residents, families, and team members every day.

Our Inspired Living at Ocoee community is looking for a hands-on leader and problem solver who can keep the big picture in focus while still knowing when it's time to grab a toolbox and get to work.

What You'll Do

• Lead all maintenance, housekeeping, and plant operations for the community.
• Build and manage a proactive preventative maintenance program for HVAC, fire systems, emergency call systems, generators, kitchen equipment, irrigation, sprinklers, and more.
• Conduct routine property inspections and prioritize work orders based on resident needs, safety, and operational priorities.
• Manage contractors and vendors, ensuring required licenses, insurance, and documentation are current.
• Oversee compliance with building codes, OSHA, EPA, SDS, fire regulations, and other applicable standards.
• Recruit, interview, hire, train, coach, evaluate, schedule, and develop Maintenance and Housekeeping team members.
• Manage department labor and staffing within the community's budget.
• Oversee apartment turnovers and ensure residences are clean, repaired, safe, and move-in ready.
• Keep the interior and exterior of the community looking its best, including landscaping, walkways, trash removal, common areas, and mechanical spaces.
• Manage inventory of maintenance supplies, parts, equipment, and required engineering records.
• Troubleshoot and coordinate repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and building systems.
• Develop and reinforce safety policies and procedures across the department.
• Respond to property emergencies and assist with community emergency situations as needed.
• Build a strong, accountable team that takes pride in the community and treats residents with respect.
• Bring a "see it, own it, fix it" mentality to everything you do!

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of maintenance experience preferred.
• Leadership experience with the ability to hire, coach, develop, and evaluate team members.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
• Working knowledge of employment laws and company policies.
• Microsoft Word and Excel experience preferred.
• Valid state driver's license.
• Comfortable with hands-on work, including painting, vacuuming, climbing ladders, accessing attics, and performing physical maintenance tasks.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Organized, dependable, resourceful, and comfortable balancing daily priorities with long-term projects.
