What you'll do...
Role summary:The Technician, Facility Services, Food Equipment, is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on food equipment, facilities, and fixtures to ensure operational efficiency and safety. This role requires diagnosing issues, utilizing multiple craft skills, and managing maintenance schedules and work orders. The position involves coordinating with contractors, adhering to regulatory standards, and supporting business-critical needs through timely response and effective problem resolution. The Technician contributes to continuous improvement by collaborating with teams, maintaining compliance, and upholding company values to support safe and reliable facility operations.
About the team:
The Facility Services Food Equipment Technician team is dedicated to maintaining and repairing commercial food equipment, including fryers, ovens, rotisseries, hot cases, pizza ovens, ice cream machines, ice machines, and pop machines. The team follows established maintenance schedules and safety standards to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency. Members collaborate to diagnose issues, perform repairs, and support business needs through timely responses and effective communication. They utilize technical skills across multiple crafts and uphold company policies to deliver quality service that supports the overall mission and operational goals.
What you'll do:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on food equipment, facilities, and fixtures following established schedules and guidelines.
- Inspect, clean, and test equipment to diagnose issues and determine replacement needs.
- Utilize multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry to complete repairs.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, parts ordering, and documentation accurately.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and participate in on-call rotations.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies throughout all tasks.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on food equipment and facility systems using multiple craft skills such as plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
- Ability to inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot equipment issues using blueprints, manuals, and diagnostic tools.
- Skilled in operating heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Strong organizational skills to manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor coordination effectively.
- Knowledge of safety regulations including OSHA and EPA, ensuring compliance in all maintenance activities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with managers, co-workers, and contractors.

The hourly wage range for this position is $26.00 - $51.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Vocational or technical certification and 2 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.Option 2: 4 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
