Role summary:The (USA) Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance, is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities and equipment. This role involves inspecting, repairing, and documenting maintenance activities while managing work orders and coordinating with contractors. The technician operates heavy machinery safely, complies with regulatory standards, and supports continuous improvement efforts. This position requires strong collaboration with team members and adherence to company policies to maintain high-quality facility operations that support business objectives and uphold Walmart’s commitment to integrity and excellence.
About the team:
Our team comprises experienced associates dedicated to delivering reliable facility services across 17 locations, including Sam’s Club. They collaborate effectively to maintain safe, functional, and well-kept environments by performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment diagnostics. Utilizing technical skills such as plumbing, electrical work, and equipment repair, the team ensures operational excellence. Committed to quality service and clear communication, this group consistently supports business and customer needs with dependability and professionalism. Their collective expertise fosters a strong, cohesive unit focused on sustaining optimal facility conditions.
What you'll do:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures.
- Inspect, clean, and repair facilities and equipment, documenting wear, repair needs, and replacement requirements.
- Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor coordination, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Operate and inspect heavy machinery and powered equipment following safety procedures and certification requirements.
- Order parts, track purchases, submit warranty claims, and conduct price comparisons for maintenance-related expenses.
- Maintain company vehicles, ensuring proper documentation, safety checks, and timely servicing.
- Collaborate with teams to implement processes that meet business needs and support continuous improvement.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and fixtures following established schedules and guidelines.
- Ability to operate, inspect, and maneuver heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and in compliance with certification and safety procedures.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations to ensure quality work and regulatory compliance.
- Skilled in managing work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor coordination with accurate documentation and reporting.
- Competence in identifying repair and replacement needs, recommending solutions to prevent future issues.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to support operational priorities and continuous improvement.

The hourly wage range for this position is $26.00 - $51.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.Option 2: 4 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
