We have an opportunity for a Quality Management Systems (QMS) Manager to join our Apex, NC team. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving Pentair Pool Quality Management System (QMS). This role ensures Business-wide compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies while driving a culture of quality, process discipline, and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Director of Quality-Pool, the QMS Manager partners closely with cross-functional teams to establish standardized processes, governance, auditing systems, and quality metrics that improve operational performance and customer satisfaction.
You will:
Quality Management System Leadership
- Own and maintain Pentair Pools Quality Management System.
- Develop and deploy quality policies, manuals, procedures, standards, and work instructions (aligned with Pentair’s Enterprise Quality standards)
- Lead Business-wide QMS implementation and maturity initiatives.
- Establish governance processes to ensure consistent application of quality requirements across all functions.
- Drive continuous improvement of QMS effectiveness through data analysis and stakeholder feedback.
Audit & Compliance Management
- Develop and manage the internal audit program.
- Ensure findings are addressed through timely corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor compliance with quality procedures, operational standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Report audit results, compliance risks, and improvement opportunities to leadership.
Corrective Action & Continuous Improvement
- Lead the Corrective and Preventive Action process (CAPA).
- Facilitate root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Track effectiveness of corrective actions and verify sustainable closure.
- Drive process improvement initiatives that reduce defects, waste, warranty costs, and customer complaints.
Quality Metrics & Management Review
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure QMS effectiveness.
- Analyze quality trends, audit results, customer feedback, warranty performance, and process compliance data.
- Prepare quality performance reports and management review presentations.
- Recommend improvement priorities and strategic actions based on performance data.
Quality Culture Development
- Champion a culture of quality, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Develop employee awareness and training programs related to quality systems.
- Foster engagement across all levels of the organization to ensure quality ownership and process discipline.
Travel:
- Approximately 25% travel to include domestic and international destinations to visit Pentair facilities and various supplier locations. Travel as required by car, air, etc.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, Business, or a related technical discipline.
- ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, CMQ/OE) preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years managing or administering Quality Management Systems.
- Experience leading ISO 9001 implementation, certification, or maintenance activities.
- Demonstrated success in developing procedures, audit programs, and quality governance systems.
- Experience with corrective action systems, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive organizational change.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality system requirements.
- Proficiency in internal auditing principles and practices.
- Knowledge of CAPA, document control, risk management, FMEA, SPC, APQP, and process management.
- Experience with quality management software and document management systems.
- Advanced analytical skills using Excel, Power BI, or similar reporting tools.
Compensation:
For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $95500 - $177300 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus.
