Who we’re looking for
The Toyota Safety Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Safety Manager for our Service Parts Organization sites located in Ontario, CA; Torrance, CA; San Ramon, CA; Portland, OR; and Kansas City, MO
The primary responsibility of this role is to balance company-wide operational hoshin priorities with the obligation to team member safety and compliance through the translation of complex safety regulatory interpretations into actionable instructions and development of technically accurate, standardized safety policies, standards, and programs.
The person in this role will support the Toyota Safety department's objective to prioritize safety through regional standardization, achieve best safety performance, and an incident free workplace.
What you’ll be doing
Drive the organization to embrace an interdependent safety culture, where everyone is responsible for safety and everyone looks out for each other.
Support all site management and supervisors to understand their role and responsibilities for safety.
Develop internal and external safety communication strategies.
Develop business plans and strategies.
Identify data trends, manage multiple reports for local, regional, and regulatory agencies, and internal TMC reporting.
Calculate risks and challenge the status quo with deep analysis of the situation, problem-solve and implement countermeasure(s) for safety incidents / concerns.
Lead and develop a highly skilled and effective safety team across SPO, and support business needs as defined regional safety organization business reporting responsibilities.
Lead regional priorities at SPO sites, such as standardization for safety management system, safety culture programs, ergonomics, process, and man/machine interaction risk reduction, and other duties as assigned.
What you bring
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Occupational Health & Safety or similar
Direct working experience in a Toyota Safety role
Working knowledge of Toyota Business Practice and related competencies
Working experience with Intelex, Serenity safety software or similar
Safety Hazard Risk Assessment experience including applying assessments to production and/or working floor situations and utilizing data analysis to address and solve safety hazards
Experience auditing regulatory policy compliance with regards to Health and Safety
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel PowerPoint
Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint
Added bonus if you have
Safety related certifications such as ASP, CSP or similar
Ergo Vision experience associated with ergonomic burden relief and countermeasures
