Description
- Assist the Network Administrator to maintain a secure, reliable technology infrastructure while serving as the library's primary technology specialist for specialized library systems and patron-facing technology services.
- Administer and support the Microsoft 365 environment, including user and license management, Exchange Online, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and related Microsoft 365 services to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient operations.
- Responsible for the Integrated Library System (ILS), including updates, security, user permissions, workflows, and system integrations.
- Manage the Veeam cloud backup system, including backup verification, restoration, storage, and service management.
- Oversee and support the Cisco Meraki wireless network infrastructure, including Meraki Dashboard management, wireless access point configuration, firmware updates, network monitoring, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and maintaining secure, reliable Wi-Fi services for staff and patrons.
- Support library technology platforms, including the online catalog, OCLC, databases, special collections, streaming services, inventory management, payment systems, RFID, self-checkout, security gates, and the CapiraMobile app.
- Manage network access for patron authentication and premium digital resources.
- Administer Internet filtering and security systems to ensure compliance with FCC E-rate requirements.
- Troubleshooting technology issues for staff and patrons, and other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree in Computer Science or a related field, or four years of equivalent relevant work experience.
- One or more years of experience supporting wireless technologies, including access points, hotspots, and IoT devices.
- One or more years of experience administering enterprise backup solutions, including backup configuration, job monitoring, tape/media rotation, retention policies, recovery testing, and restoration of critical data.
- One or more years of experience supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11 desktop environments.
- Two or more years of experience supporting Microsoft 365 cloud environments, including administration and troubleshooting of Microsoft 365 applications and services
- Three or more years of experience supporting VMware and Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy management.
- Practical working experience with an Integrated Library System (ILS), or comparable experience with enterprise systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Electronic Health Records (EHR) or similar platforms.
- Experience working in a public library environment is preferred, with familiarity supporting library operations and technology services
- Strong oral, written, communication, and organizational skills required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
