Description
I'm partnering with a leading, well-established agri-business in the Western Cape to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant.
This isn't your typical finance role.
We're looking for someone who understands the financial realities of a business that owns its product, manages the production process, and sells that product into the market.
If your experience has been gained within agriculture, food production, fresh produce, farming, manufacturing, or another product-based environment where you've supported the full operational cycle, we'd love to hear from you.
What we're looking for:
You'll have experience working in businesses where finance is closely connected to operations, with exposure to areas such as:
• Production costing and inventory
• Month-end financial reporting
• Cashflow forecasting
• Debtors, creditors and reconciliations
• Foreign currency transactions
• Financial controls and process improvement
• Working alongside operational teams to understand the financial impact of production and sales
The successful candidate is someone who enjoys understanding how a product moves from production through to sale, and who can translate that journey into meaningful financial information and business insights.
Requirements
- Relevant Accounting qualification
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Financial Accountant role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Advanced Excel
- Sage 300 or similar ERP experience
- SAICA or SAIPA articles advantageous
We're looking for someone who is naturally proactive, detail-oriented, commercially aware and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced operational environment.
