Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under the direct supervision of the Accounts Payable Manager, you will be assisting in the Accounts Payable activities of EAS. You will also utilize Excel skills to prepare Accounts payable (Job Cost, Cost Code, GL, etc.)
Job responsibilities include:
- Oversee the maintenance of EAS departmental records, make new Job Files
- Maintain vendor accounts while staying in compliance with company policies and procedures
- Enter accounts payable invoices in accounting software using a three-way match process.
- Code other A/P invoices not associated with a purchase order.
- Maintaining yearly vendor files.
- Work with project managers and other authorized purchasers to ensure correct and timely payments to vendors.
- Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
- Any other job-related duties as may be assigned.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma. An associate's degree in accounting preferred.
- A minimum of two years’ experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be accepted in lieu of degree.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word etc.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles, procedures and standards
- Strong understanding of job costing is a plus
- High degree of attention to detail
- Identify errors and correct them.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Must be physically present to perform these duties.
