About this Role
NorthStar Energy Solutions is hiring! The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of NorthStar’s Transmission warehouse, including material, tools, equipment, inventory, and overall yard organization.
This is a hands-on role that works closely with field leadership, project teams, purchasing, fleet, and vendors to ensure crews have what they need, when they need it. The Warehouse Manager is expected to take ownership of the facility, maintain accurate inventory and records, and keep materials and equipment moving efficiently between the warehouse and our projects.
What You'll Do
- Manage daily warehouse and yard operations, supporting operations and field crews
- Receive, inspect, organize, store, and issue materials, tools, and equipment
- Coordinate material and equipment needs with Superintendents, Foremen, Project Managers, and other field leadership
- Maintain accurate inventory and track materials, tools, and equipment coming in and out of the warehouse
- Coordinate deliveries, pickups, transfers, and returns between vendors, the warehouse, and job sites
- Maintain an organized warehouse and yard so materials and equipment can be quickly located and deployed
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate upcoming material, tool, and supply needs
- Coordinate with purchasing and vendors on orders, deliveries, shortages, damaged materials, and returns
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and other documentation
- Maintain warehouse records, equipment logs, inventory documentation, and related reporting
- Help establish and maintain practical warehouse processes for receiving, storage, checkout, returns, and inventory control
- Track company-owned tools and equipment and help reduce loss, damage, and unnecessary replacement
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and yard
- Ensure materials and equipment are stored and handled safely
- Identify issues before they impact field operations and work with the appropriate teams to resolve them
- Support field and operational needs as priorities change
- Promote and follow all company safety policies and procedures
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of warehouse, material management, construction, utility, logistics, or related experience preferred
- Previous warehouse leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Experience supporting construction or utility field operations strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of inventory control, material handling, receiving, shipping, and warehouse operations
- Ability to coordinate multiple material and equipment requests in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with vendors, suppliers, field crews, and operational leadership
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other inventory or tracking systems
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed
- Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in both warehouse and outdoor yard environments
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout warehouse and yard areas
- Ability to safely lift and move materials and equipment as required
- Ability to operate or work around forklifts, trucks, trailers, and material-handling equipment
- Ability to safely navigate active warehouse, yard, and job site environments
